Glenhaven

There is such a lot to do in Pemberton and surrounds that we advise prospective guests to spend at least two nights in the area. Many people who book for only one night regret not being able to stay longer when they discover the enormous range of interests available to them. We spend a while with each set of guests and suggest a suitable itinerary for them, tailor made to their time schedule. Below is a list of some of our particular favourites but the list is by no means comprehensive.

Galleries -

The Fine Woodcraft Gallery - A selection of quality crafted works by artists from the region. Superb marquetry; clocks made entirely from wood, even the cogs; African style pottery and wonderful furniture.

The Gold'n'grape - exceptional jewellery at very competitive prices; a variety of paintings; wonderful furniture. Great cafe too.

Peter Kovacsy Studio - superb quality wooden bowls, ornaments and furniture. Matchless glasswork from an internationally recognised artist.

Botanica - Beautiful paintings from the plant world, fibre and textiles.

Winery restaurants -

Gloucester Ridge - interesting and attractive menu for the discerning palate.

Hidden River - many awards for wine and food. Part of the restaurant is an old streetcar.

Phillips Estate - good food and wine in a beautiful lakeside location.

Mountfords - especially on Sundays when a musical group is playing.

Tours -

Wandering Vintage. Scenic nature tour which takes in several of the local wineries.

Pemberton Discovery Tour - Through the forest, up the sand dunes, down to the beach.

Donnelly River Cruise - Down the unique river to the coast in splendid comfort.

Karri Forest Explorer - Drive yourself around the 80 km of forest tracks.

Restaurants -

Sadie's at the Gloucester Motel - Huge variety of quality meals including Raj's authentic Indian curries.

Millhouse cafe - The best in home-style cooking.

King Trout - Catch your own trout then have it cooked immediately. Or gourmet platters can be delivered to Glenhaven.
